A new battery was installed in a 2015 Audi Q5. However, address 61 – Battery Regulation wasn’t found in VCDS using a HEX-NET interface. It was visible under the Drive Train tab in address 19 – CAN Gateway, but accessing it caused VCDS to timeout. Research suggested battery registration might be tied to the CAN gateway, requiring a different process. A workaround involved slightly modifying the battery serial number during registration, as outlined on the Ross-Tech Wiki: http://wiki.ross-tech.com/wiki/index.php/Battery_Replacement. Following this, Measuring Blocks 017, 018, 019, and 020 showed plausible values, although potentially different due to the new battery’s higher capacity. The next step involved adjusting values in Adaptation-10, but it wasn’t found in the CAN gateway. Instead, Long Adaptation-0A was available, but its options didn’t match those described in adaptation videos for inputting the new battery’s specifications.
