Ross-Tech offers various upgrade programs for registered VCDS (VAG-COM) users to purchase the latest diagnostic software and interfaces at a discounted price. These programs are exclusively for registered users who have previously purchased a genuine Ross-Tech interface directly from Ross-Tech, an authorized distributor/reseller, or a license for VCDS-Lite or an older VAG-COM version. New customers or unregistered users are not eligible.
VCDS Upgrade Paths: Finding the Right Option for You
Several upgrade options cater to different starting points. To determine the best path, identify your current setup and desired outcome:
Upgrading from VCDS-Lite
Scenario 1: VCDS-Lite with a 3rd Party Interface
If you have a VCDS-Lite license and a non-Ross-Tech interface, you can upgrade to the full version of VCDS with a current Ross-Tech interface. This provides access to the complete feature set and ensures compatibility with the latest VAG vehicles. Upgrade to full VCDS with a Ross-Tech Interface
Scenario 2: VCDS-Lite with an Older Ross-Tech Interface (ISO-COM, MAX-COM, UNI-COM, TWIN-COM, BI-COM)
Users with a VCDS-Lite license and an older “dumb” Ross-Tech interface can upgrade to the full version of VCDS paired with a newer, more capable Ross-Tech interface. This upgrade offers significant performance and functionality improvements. Upgrade to full VCDS with a newer Interface
Upgrading from an Older Ross-Tech Dongle Interface
Scenario 3: Older Ross-Tech Dongle Interface (HEX-COM, HEX-USB, KEY-COM, KEY-USB, KII-USB, Micro-CAN, and HEX+CAN)
Owners of older Ross-Tech dongle interfaces, including the Micro-CAN, can upgrade to the full version of VCDS with a newer Ross-Tech interface. This ensures compatibility with future vehicle models and provides access to the latest software features. Upgrade to full VCDS with a newer Interface
Upgrading from a HEX+CAN Interface
Scenario 4: Ross-Tech HEX+CAN Interface (HEX-USB+CAN or HEX-COM+CAN)
For those using a HEX+CAN interface, upgrading to the HEX-NET provides access to both VCDS and VCDS-Mobile, enabling wireless diagnostics. Upgrade to VCDS and VCDS-Mobile with HEX-NET
Adding VINs to a Limited Enthusiast Interface
Scenario 5: Limited VIN Enthusiast Interface (HEX-NET or HEX-V2)
Users with a limited VIN enthusiast interface can purchase additional VIN licenses to expand the number of vehicles they can diagnose. Add VIN Licenses to your Interface
