  4. Turn Steering Wheel: Slowly rotate the steering wheel left and right, exceeding the index mark (approximately 45 degrees) until all four slope detection indexes are recognized (detected) and the index mark is set to (1). Select [Done, Go Back].

Step 2: Steering Angle Sensor Calibration

  1. Access Basic Settings: Navigate to [Basic Settings – 04] and select [Show Measuring Data].

  2. Select Measuring Values: Choose the following:

    • IDE02216-IDE05795 (Steering angle sensor: basic setting – End basic setting)
    • IDE02216-MAS03161 (Steering angle sensor: basic setting – Start)
  3. Start Basic Settings: In Basic Settings, select [MAS00815] Steering angle sensor and click [Go!]. The status should display “Running.”

  4. Turn Steering Wheel: Slowly turn the steering wheel to the right and left mechanical stops.

  5. Center Steering Wheel: Return the steering wheel to the center position. The status should change to “Permitted.” (Note: In some instances, “Permitted” may not display.)

  6. Wait for Completion: Wait for the status to indicate “Finished correctly.” then click [Stop]. (Note: In some instances, “Finished correctly” may not display, but the procedure may still be successful if no fault codes are present.)

Step 3: Evaluation (No VCDS Required)

This final step confirms the calibration.

  1. Full Range Test: Turn the steering wheel to both the right and left end stops, then return it to the center.
  2. Fault Lamp Check: Observe the dashboard for a yellow fault lamp. It should turn off.
  3. Engine Off and DTC Check: Turn off the engine and check for any Diagnostic Trouble Codes (DTCs). Clear any existing DTCs.
